Does NOT cover (exclusions) — the design basis → DNV-ST-F101; the specialist design analyses → DNV-RP-F105/F109/F110.
F116 is the operate-and-maintain framework; the ST and design RPs cover concept-to-construction.

- Inspection & Monitoring — ILI, external survey, and CP monitoring strategy by risk.
- Assessment & Mitigation — response to findings and intervention decisions.
Technical Details
DNV-RP-F116 provides the framework for managing submarine pipeline integrity throughout operating life — the offshore counterpart to onshore integrity-management programs. It defines the management system, the threat and risk assessment, the inspection and monitoring strategy (in-line inspection, ROV/AUV survey, cathodic-protection monitoring), and how to respond to findings.
Where DNV-ST-F101 and its design RPs (F105/F109/F110) get the pipeline safely designed and built, F116 keeps it safe in service by directing inspection and intervention to the credible threats.
Engineering Note: Tie the F116 inspection strategy to the credible subsea threats — corrosion, free-span development, third-party damage, and geohazards — rather than a fixed survey interval, so limited ROV/ILI resources target where degradation actually occurs.
